Feb. 2 at 3:40 a.m. Burns Lake RCMP responded to a call of an unruly guest at a drinking party on McPhail Rd. A 21 yr. old male was found breaching his community sentence order. The male was arrested and is being held in custody pending a review of his community sentence order.

No licence

Feb. 2 at 8:45 a.m. Burns Lake RCMP stopped a white Ford Explorer in the parking lot of a local fast food restaurant for faulty equipment. The driver a 34 yr. old male from Granisle was found to have no drivers licence and is a vehicle impound candidate. The driver was charged accordingly and the vehicle impounded.

Moose killed

Feb. 4 at 9 p.m. Burns Lake RCMP attended a motor vehicle accident between a delivery vehicle and a moose at the bottom of Priestly Hill on Hwy. 16. The vehicle sustained major damage and the moose was killed as a result of the accident. The driver was not injured.

Break and enter

Feb. 5 shortly after midnight Burns Lake RCMP were dispatched to a break and enter in progress at a home on Tsa St. Investigation revealed that five or so male youths were attempting to enter the home in order to continue drinking at a party there. The home occupants had locked the door, resulting in one of the suspects kicking the door in to gain entry. The suspects were located. Two males were taken into custody. One male is a youth and found to be breaking several probation orders and his community sentence order. The second male was found to be breaching his probation order. Both males were remanded into custody and will be seeking to be released by a judge on Feb. 7. Police are requesting that bail be denied.

Racial slurs

Feb. 6 at 8:40 p.m. Burns Lake RCMP attended to a call of two males causing problems at local gas station. The two males had been panhandling and causing problems with customers and staff. When asked to leave the two male suspects threatened to cause harm to staff, made several racial slurs about the staff and threatened staff with a broken beer bottle. The suspects, who are well known to police, fled prior to police attending. The investigation in ongoing.
