The province awarded a contract of $6.25 million to Peter’s Bros. Construction Ltd. for the resurfacing of Hwy. 16 and another six kilometres on Hwy. 37A near Stewart. Hot-in-place recycling will be used on both projects.

“These roads are well-travelled and resurfacing is necessary maintenance to ensure our roads stay safe for all motorists,” Nechako Lakes MLA John Rustad said.

This project is part of B.C. on the Move, the B.C. government’s 10-year transportation plan to improve the province’s transportation network.

The project is expected to be completed in September of 2016.
