Prince George's dumbest criminal

On Oct. 23, 2011 Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a male with an axe attempting to steal a Corvette.

On Oct. 23, 2011 at approximately 3:10 p.m. Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a male with an axe attempting to steal a Corvette from a driveway on Francois Cres. in Prince George.

The owner of the Corvette had just jump started the battery and was putting the battery charger in the garage when a male jumped in the running Corvette, locked the power door locks, closed the power windows and attempted to drive away.

Unfortunately for the thief, he was not good with a standard transmission and stalled the Corvette when he attempted to reverse out of the driveway.

The thief could not restart the Corvette as the battery was dead.

This also made the power windows and power door locks inoperable, locking himself inside the Corvette, as the owner called 911.

The thief attempted to break the window from the inside with the victim's anti theft steering wheel lock, but was not successful.

He further attempted to breakout with a hatchet that he had in his backpack, but was not able to break the window.

When police arrived the thief had just smashed the driver side window and was attempting to exit the vehicle.

As it turns out, all the suspect would have had to do, was manually slide the door lock to the side and the door would have opened.

The suspect was arrested without incident.

Charges of mischief under $5000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of break in instruments and theft $5000 or under, have been approved against Brent Jameson Morgan, a 20 yr. old Prince George resident.
