Burns Lake Band Chief Albert Gerow, and couns. Dan George, (couns. Ron Charlie who was present at the conference but not available at time of photo) presented Norihiro Okuda, Japanese Ambassador to Canada with gift from one of the First Nations bands who's traditional territory the proposed Liquefied Natural Gas pipelines are planned to go through to access Asian markets via Prince Rupert or Kitimat ports.

Japan's demand for LNG continues to grow ever since the country experienced a devastating natural disaster earthquake and tsunami.

The Burns Lake Band continues to promote Burns Lake and the Lakes District in opportunities for positive economic growth.

The BC First Nations Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) Summit was organized and hosted by the Carrier Sekani Tribal Council held on Oct. 9, 2013 at the civic centre in Prince George.

Presentations were made from the Japanese Ambassador, Minister for Natural Resources Joe Oliver, Minister for Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation John Rustad.
