RCMP impound 13 high end vehicles

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 31, Deas Island RCMP Freeway Patrol received multiple reports of several high end vehicles driving at a high rate of speed on Hwy. 99.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 31, Deas Island RCMP Freeway Patrol received multiple reports of several high end vehicles driving at a high rate of speed on Hwy. 99.

The vehicles exited the freeway into Surrey where RCMP officers were able to stop six of the 13 vehicles.

The other seven vehicles were located and stopped by White Rock RCMP a short distance away.

The 13 vehicles in question are; a 2007 Ferrari 599, two 2010 Lamborghini Gallardo's, 2009 Lamborghini Gallardo, 2009 Audi R8, 2012 Nissan GT-R, two 2010 Nissan GT-R's, two 2010 Maserati Turismo's, 2011 Mercedes SL63, 2011 Mercedes SLS and a 2005 Aston Martin DB9.

Witnesses advised speeds up to 200 kilometres per hour were reached.

Over $2 million worth of vehicles will now be impounded for seven days. Each driver receive a violation ticket with a specified penalty of $196 and responsible for all towing and storage charges. Not one of the drivers was over the age of 20, very few possessed a full class five license and many were still new drivers.
