The Fraser Lake RCMP is currently investigating a vicious assault on a 19 yr. old who allegedly stole a bicycle.
The incidents occurred April 20 in Fraser Lake and along Hwy. 16, near Lejac.
The Fraser Lake RCMP received the complaint of the assault from the victim’s mother, who reported it on behalf of her 19 yr. old son. She came forward for him, given that her son is mentally challenged.
The young man suffered substantial injuries as a result of the merciless attack when he was confronted by the bicycle owner.
The assault was captured on video and uploaded to the internet.
RCMP have confirmed that the video was taken by other occupants in the same vehicle that were with the bicycle owner, when the group went looking for the bicycle. The Fraser Lake RCMP are asking that anyone with information on either incident to contact 250-699-7777 or Crimestoppers 1-800-222-8477.
