Last week at the all candidates meeting hosted by the Burns Lake and District Chamber of Commerce, three candidates from School District 91 were present to answer questions from the crowd.
Present were Lynda Maertz, Steve Davis and Louise Lacerte.
Hot topics for the evening were school buses, class sizes and the 15 per cent of gross salary and benefits for work that is no longer being done by teachers as part of their Phase 1 job action.
Promises from all three candidates were to ensure children’s learning was the priority.
The candidates for School District 91 elections are as follows - Topley, Decker Lake and Granisle Steve Davis, Ivan H. Leon, Tim Maertz. Burns Lake and Rural Area Louise Lacerte and Lynda Maertz. In by acclamation are Engen, Mapes, Vanderhoof and Cluculz Lake Rosalie Nichiporuk & Philippe Turgeon. Also in by acclamation are Grassy Plains and Francois Lake Adele Gooding, Endako, Fraser Lake and Fort Fraser John Stafford and Fort St. James, Manson Creek, Germanson and Takla Landing Ann Marie Sam.
