Burns Lake Band (BLB) members have recently nominated two candidates for the band's upcoming by-election - Robert Charlie, former BLB chief, and Sara Tibbetts.
The nomination took place at the band's office on July 20, 2016.
The by-election will be held to fill a vacant councillor position. Gilbert George stepped down as councillor approximately three months before the end of his term.
"At this time, my personal well-being has become more of a priority and needs my immediate attention," he told Lakes District News.
The by-election will be held on Aug. 16, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., at the band's office.
The new councillor's term will end on Oct. 21, 2016.
