The 2014 provisional Village of Burns Lake (VBL) budget includes 1.5 per cent wage increases for both unionized and non-unionized personnel, and a postponed bump to the councillor and head of council (mayor) stipends.
Current combined wages for all VBL non-department head stages are: public works, $432,477; Recreation/Arena staff, $301,307; administration (not including department heads), $221,582.
Wages for department heads at or above $75,000 are Director Public Works, $75,000, Director Protective Services, $76,105, and Chief Administrative Officer/Director of Corporate Services, $106,000.
Head of council is budgeted $12,500, while councillors are budgeted $6000. This represents a combined total increase of about $1900 between the five VBL council positions.
Regional District of Bulkley Nechako areas B and E share a portion of VBL department expenses when it comes to economic development, recreation services, and fire protection services.
