Following the discovery of an underground water leak on Dec. 25, 2011, Village of Burns Lake public works crew excavated a section of Hwy. 16 in downtown Burns Lake.
Traffic was diverted from this section of highway for seven hours while the crew searched for the source of the leak.
The search proved unsuccessful and more excavation work is scheduled for this week, pending weather conditions.
