We remember Abram W Buhler. He was born near Aberdeen, Saskatchewan on June 30th, 1914. As a young child he moved with his family to Carrot River. There he would meet Margaret Doerksen and begin the relationship which developed into a marriage of more than 60 years. In 1951, Burns Lake became their home. Here they raised two girls and five boys. Abe’s work was varied and included many years of hauling local loads of lumber, ties and freight in general. He also delivered mail on a rural route for a number of years. In 2010 Abe and Margaret moved to Edmonton, just blocks away from Dan (son) & Sheri, to a

wonderful facility where Sheri is on staff and able to maintain regular contact. It was here that Abe died, on February 15th, 2011, with Margaret and Sheri at his side.

A funeral service happened in Edmonton and a memorial service in Burns Lake. Margaret continues to reside in Edmonton. We are grateful to the community of Burns Lake for embracing Abe and Margaret and providing a home for our family for many years.
