Alma Ann Pudsey, age 82, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on November 16, 2012.

Alma was born in Granum, Alberta to parents Della and William Blake. As a child, she moved with her family to Calgary, Alberta, and later to Vancouver, BC, where they settled in Kerrisdale. She graduated from Magee Secondary School. She married Ray Pudsey on July 04, 1949. In 1953 she and her husband left Vancouver and moved to Ootsa Lake - eventually settling at Wistaria, where she raised four children and built a house. In 2006 Alma and Ray relocated to Burns Lake to be closer to services.


Alma Pudsey was well known for her artistic skills in drawing and painting, for her fun spirit, and for her clever sense of humour. She was a wonderful mother who will be greatly missed by her children, as well as a dependable and steadfast friend to all who knew her.

Alma Pudsey is survived by her brother William Blake, and by her sister Barbara Cooke; by her children Randy Pudsey, Ken Pudsey and Valorie Pudsey, and by her grand-daughter Stella Pudsey. Alma was pre-deceased by her husband Ray Pudsey and by her son Donald Pudsey.

A funeral service was held on November 25, 2012 at the Wistaria Community Church. A reception followed at the Wistaria Community Hall. Alma Pudsey was laid to rest beside her husband and son at the community cemetery at Streatham.
