January 5, 1945 - June 4, 2021
In Loving Memory ~ Born January 5, 1945 in Korah, Ontario Died June 4, 2021 in Colleymount, BC. Bette was born in Korah, Ontario, Bette Lou Mae Lidstone. When Bette was 13 years old her family moved from Sault Saint Marie to Colleymount, BC.
Soon after moving here, Bette met and married the love of her life, Louis Snyder. From this union they had four children: Parker (Shelly), Carol (Steve), Lee (Simone) and Alan (Susan).
Bette was a stay at home wife and mother until her children were grown, and she decided that she needed another job, so she went to work at the Lakes District Hospital as a cook.
When The Pines opened, Bette went there to cook for the residents of the senior home, which she loved doing. A fall and broken hip forced her into retirement. Bette spent her winters reading, doing puzzles and watching her favourite shows on tv.
During the summers she travelled and went ocean fishing and camping with Carol and Steve. As her health declined, Bette moved back out to Colleymount, spending the last few months of her life back in the neighbourhood she started in so many years ago and were she passed.
Bette is survived by her children Parker (Shelly), Carol (Steve), Lee (Simone), Alan (Susan). Her brothers: Harry, Bruce, Rodney and Sean. Grandchildren: Melissa, Dustin, Allison, Ensia, Chantel, Kelly, Mikala, Brianne, great grandchildren: Nyah, Hunter, Sophia, Casey, Roman and Zoe.
Bette is predeceased by: parent George and Muriel Lidstone, her husband Louis Snyder, sister Barbara and grandson Wade Imus.
The family would like to thank Dr. Graetz, and a special THANKS to the wonderful nurses that so patiently treated Bette during the last couple weeks of her life in Emergency.
