May 10, 1953 – November 22, 2019
Born May 10th 1953 in Vancouver British Columbia to Arthur Edward Cavendish Manlove and Eseme’ Yvonne Glencairn-Penny. She passed suddenly on November 22nd 2019 at her home in Tintagel (Burns Lake) BC. She was the loving wife of Denys Bell, mother to Erin Peterson (Trevor) and D’Arcy Bell (Mardel). She was an adoring nana to Brooklyn and Nicholas Schroeder, Kaiden and Alexa Bell and Cameron and Ashley Peterson.
Brenda and Denys grew up within 5 blocks of each other in the Capilano Heights area of North Vancouver. They attended the same kindergarten class, elementary classes and high school, graduating in the same grad class at Handsworth, 1971. They began dating shortly after graduation and were married in June of 1974. Brenda and Denys moved to Burns Lake in 1975 where they began their dream of starting and growing a family, with the arrival of Erin in 1977 and D’Arcy in 1979. Brenda followed in her mother’s footsteps by working in the Burns Lake branch of the Royal Bank of Canada. She worked at the branch off and on from 1975 to 1995, after which she retired. Brenda was active in the community as a member of the Kinnette Club of Burns Lake and more recently as a very active member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She loved spending time with her sisters in their local and travelling pursuits. She was an exhaustive reader and looked forward to winter trips to Mexico. She was fond of Knitting, spending hours creating small household items and giving them away as gifts.
Brenda enjoyed spending time at the family home on Babine Lake. She loved the quiet and peacefulness of sitting in the upstairs living room, watching over the lake, following the suns paths and the frequent downpours as they made their way across the lake and over the distant hills. She always looked forward to the evening sunsets. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren whenever they showed up to visit at home or to fish or run and play at the lake. Nana always had treats for the grandkids and her specialty was to make tuna sandwiches whenever the kids requested.
Brenda was predeceased by her parents Arthur (Don) and Eseme’ Manlove.
She leaves to mourn besides her Burns Lake family, her brother Glen (Charmaine) Manlove in Kelowna, in-laws Olive Reid (Kelowna), Brenda Bell (Burton BC), Jim (Suzanne) Bell in Abbotsford along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews scattered from the Okanagan , Australia the Lower mainland and Thailand.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for the spring of 2020.
