With great sadness, we announce the passing of Brian Edward Van Tine. Age 62 years in Quesnel, B.C. on October 7, 2016.

Brian was born in New Westminster, April 16, 1954. He grew up in Terrace, B.C. until 8 years old, after that moving to Kamloops, Telkwa, and Smithers B.C., where he attended middle school, high school and into adulthood.

His early career was in Forestry, Silviculture and eventually Mining. Brian loved the outdoors and nature, but also was an avid reader, and enjoyed researching genealogy. He had an uncanny knack for remembering birth dates and dates in general. He had a vast knowledge of geography also. Family would always ask Brian if they need an answer about any of these subjects. His family and relatives meant a great deal to him.

Although he lived in various places, he always considered Smithers and area, home.

He is predeceased by his father, Charles Wesley Van Tine (Telkwa, B.C. June 1993), survived by his mother, Flora Jean Gair, Kamloops B.C., his sister, Lynn Higgins (Adrian) Kamloops B.C., nephew, Nigel Higgins (Tracey) and their daughter, Bailey, Surrey, B.C., nephew, Shawn Higgins, Kamloops B.C.

He was laid to rest in Burns Lake Cemetery, October 14, 2016. He will be greatly missed. Our thanks to his family and friends.
