DAVID G. RASMUS

It is with our deepest regret that we have to inform you that David G. Rasmus passed away at his home March 27, 2003 after a courageous fight with cancer.
David was a man of strength, determination and passion. His philosophies and convictions were born of knowledge and true to his heart. David’s joy was his family. His passion was his work as an educator. His focus was to provide opportunities for children to develop their full potential in all areas. David fostered excellence but praised “good efforts and good intentions”. He placed a high value on leadership, culture and citizenship.
He never expected more of others than he did of himself. David was devoted to his family and his happiest moments were spent sharing with them his love of the outdoors. He had a strong sense of global responsibility toward others and the environment and his children learned those values well.
David was competitive in sports and played to win. He was a fighter. His last fight was for time and he fought well. He was an inspiration.
David will be sadly missed by daughters Kristy and Andrea, wife, Donna, parents George and Ella, brothers Ken, Bob, Stan and Victor, sisters Carole and Jeannie, and his nieces, nephews, friends, companions, and associates.
He was predeceased by his son Cameron in October, 2001.
A service was held at the Trail Middle School Gymnasium on Monday, March 31, 2003 at 5:00 p.m. with a reception following at his home. In David’s memory, donations to Foster Parents Plan, 95 St. Clair Ave West, Suite 101, Toronto, On. M4V 3B5, Ducks Unlimited, Box 1160, Stonewall, Mb. R0C 2Z0 or the Canadian Red Cross (Iraqi Relief Fund), 625 Columbia Ave., Castlegar, B.C. V1N 1G9 would be appreciated.
