Evelyn Rose ANDERSON

June 5, 2007

Evelyn Rose Anderson was born May 28, 1936 in Burns Lake and passed away June 5, 2007 at the age of 71.

She is survived by her loving husband Bob, her children and their families: Linda (Jo’nn) Andrew, Brianna and Cale of Kamloops; Joan, Sydney and Carter of Kelowna, and by Bob’s children and families: Aaron, Geoffry and Mandi, Valerie, Morgan and Karl, and Adrienne (Brian), Melissa and Megan, all of Burns Lake.

She is also survived by her brother Helge, sisters Thora (Keith) Arnold-Smith, Sheila Parker, Lilian (George) Yendrys, Lorna Larsen, Lynn (Andrew) Kiss, and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was predeceased by her infant son Ian Mackay in 1966.

Evelyn lived in the Lakes District her entire life. She entered the workforce at 15 and worked at a variety of jobs until 1985. When she retired Evelyn took up quilting and made many hand appliqued quilts for family and friends.

An enthusiastic fisherman, Evelyn spent many hours on “the lake” with Bob in search of the best fishing hole. She rarely spoke of the one that got away because she always caught the biggest fish.

Geoffry, Mandi, Andrew, Brianna, Cale, Sydney and Carter enjoyed many camping and fishing trips with Grandma, and she always made their birthdays, Easter and Christmas special.

There will be no service by request. Donations can be made to Ootsa Lake Bible Camp, (Box 1119, Burns Lake, BC, V0J 1E0), to assist in sending children to camp who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend.
