In Loving Memory ~
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Fred L. Cowan, 64, of Burns Lake, who died suddenly at home on January 24, 2022.
Fred was born in Burns Lake September 07 1957 to Richmond and the late Jane Cowan (nee Roe). When Fred was young the Cowan family moved to Kamloops, B.C. and then to Cache Creek, B.C., before returning to Burns Lake in the early 70's.
Fred was 17 when he began building his cabin and landscaping his little piece of heaven. It was a labor of love that showed in his attention to detail. Fred drove log truck in the Burns Lake and surrounding areas for many years.
Fred approached life with a gentle calmness and was happiest when he was helping others. Spending long days every fall filling woodsheds for family and friends. If there was someone in need, he was there.
Fred is preceded by his Mother; Jane Virginia Cowan ( nee Roe), brothers, Hughie and Tony, and sister, Ginny.
Fred is survived by his Father; Richmond Cowan, his loving partner of 24 years, Paula Silk; his son Bob Cowan (Sarah) of Kamloops, B.C., his daughter Alycia Chicoine Chrenek (Chris) of Innisfail, Alberta, and 3 stepsons, Michael Silk (Cory-Lynn) of Burns Lake, B.C., Justin Silk (Ariane) of Burns Lake, B.C., and Blake Silk of Burns Lake, B.C., 7 Grandchildren, brother, Richie Cowan (Marah) of Burns Lake, B.C., sisters, Cindy Lindaas (Glenn) of Houston, B.C., and Cheri Clarke of Kamloops, B.C., as well as many nieces, nephews, Aunts and Uncles, cousins, and his best friend Dan Hiebert (Nicky) of Burns Lake.
