George passed away in the morning of March 27, 2014 at the Polson Residential Care Home in Vernon, B.C. as a result of a respiratory infection.
He is survived by 3 children, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and long time companion Beryl Cowan.
George lived in the Lakes District from 1971 to 1987 and often referred to his time working on the Francois Lake ferry and owning the Takysie Lake Resort as the most enjoyable time of his life. The memories from his crew mates and many friends through the Takysie Lake Resort stayed with him through his final days.
A small private family service will be held later this summer.
