Gerda Feldmann passed away among family and friends on February 10th, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. Gerda was born in Braunschweig, Germany on March 27th, 1937.
She came to Canada in 1952 with her family and eventually found her way to Calgary where she met and married Konrad in 1962. After a spell on Vancouver Island Konrad and Gerda found their way to Burns Lake where they raised their family, built a farm, and embraced the community.
Gerda leaves behind her husband of 55 years. 55 years of loving, laughing, and sharing everything life could possibly throw at them.
She also leaves behind four children, Daphne (Ian), Margaret (Richard), Kathy, Derek (Jessica), and many grand-children, and great grand-children.
She was predeceased by son James and daughter-in-law Marlene.
Gerda lived a simple life where appreciation for the smallest things gave her the greatest joy. She loved her family, her home, her garden and her frequent trips to Spatzizi. Her quiet strength will be greatly missed although we find comfort in the knowledge of her final destination.
Rest easy Mom. You'll always be warm now.
