March 29, 2006

GLEN GALLOWAY

Born in Hardisty, Alberta on December 12, 1926. He was the son of Joseph and Maud Galloway. Glen passed away on March 29, 2006 at the Burns Lake Hospital. It was his wish to be cremated and no services to be held.

Glen served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War and was a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Many people will remember the kindness and compassion he had for the dogs. Silversheen Kennels has been home to the Alaskan Malamute for 38 years as was his boarding kennel.

Linda his wife has been at his side for over ten years sharing his love for the Malamute and the many borders that have been put into their care. Glen leaves his loving wife Linda to carry on where he could not.

Glen was one of the founders of the present day kennel club, but retired from it two years ago due to illness. He viewed his last show in 2005 and recollected how the club began, it was a slow but successful achievement and he was very proud of how far they had come. Glen was also a past member in the Saddle Club, his many trophies speak for themselves.

He is surived by his wife Linda, daughter Glenda Galloway in Australia, three step-sons, Brian Bens (Beverly) of Burns Lake, Kelly Smith (Cindy) of Quesnel, Cory Smith of Vancouver, and step-daughter Sandy (Dave) Fo of Derroche, B.C., and eight grandchildren.
