Harold Green, 82 years old, of Burns Lake, BC, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.
Harold leaves behind his daughter and son-in-law, Diane & Jeff Dyck; grandchildren, Michelle and Brian; brother, Malcolm; and sister, Ivy.
Harold was born and raised in the small mining village of Moorends in England. That is where he met his wife, Ivy Green; they were married for over 60 years. They spent many years travelling and working around the world. He started working in the coal mines in England and moved on to gold mining after leaving England. They lived in Papua New Guinea and Australia, then set their eyes on Canada where they proudly became Canadian citizens in the year of 1980. They lived in Yellowknife, NT; Creston, BC; Granisle, BC; and finally settled in Rose Lake, BC. They also spent several winters down in Texas as "snowbirds". The last two years he had resided at The Pines care home in Burns Lake.
Harold's passion was fishing from a young age and steelhead fishing became his favourite. He loved working in the garden, building fishing rods, and took pride in building his own homes. He will be remembered as a hard worker and a great storyteller. He will be greatly missed by his family.
