John Wiebe

April 17, 2024

September 11, 1934 - April 17, 2024

In loving memory ~

Born in Sask. on a family farm, John was the fifth from the oldest, plus nine boys and three girls. With his brothers as side kicks, spending time in the fields, snaring gophers that chased him, setting John back on his heals.

At the young age of five, the family boarded a train, headed west for a new life, The Southside's where they came. He grew up fast becoming a man, blowing up stumps to clear the land. Chalk and slates were not to be had, saws, axes and logging were the education for Dad. Hunting and fishing were done to survive, though later in years they became trophies of pride. From logging to farming he worked tirelessly, to provide a good life for his family.

A loving husband to Tena, A loving Dad to his kids, He always gave without wanting, he was a generous friend. He spent most of his years, on the Southside homestead, till they moved closer to town, settling on an acreage. He had a strong love for his Saviour, he lived his life for God, he's now gone to be with Him, his life on earth was well trod.

John was born Sept. 11,1934 in Swift Current SK. to George and Anna Wiebe. After he married Tena Fehr in 1963 he worked for the Dept. of Highways in road maintenance and on the Francois Lake ferry as deck-hand and first mate. He then started logging which he did until he retired. Being bored after he retired he made and sold sausages part time. John and Tena were currently residing in Decker Lake, B.C. John passed away peacefully in the Smithers hospital with his loving wife by his side.

John is survived by his wife Tena, children Lavon (Kelly), Lorna (John), Jordan (Donnella), 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren as well as 2 sisters, 3 brothers, 2 sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews as well as extended family members. John was pre-deceased by his parents,1 sister, 6 brothers and son -in-law Josh Murdock.
