In Loving Memory ~

We are very sad to announce the passing of Kenneth John Needoba, on May 10, 2024, at the Lakes District Hospital and Health Centre in Burns Lake shortly after his diagnosis with lung cancer. He was 77 at the time of his passing.

Ken was born on August 18, 1946 in Vernon, BC. Being raised on a farm meant Ken developed a strong work ethic from a young age. He became a brother to Garry and again to Karen, stepping into the big brother role with ease. He was an avid hunter in his youth and a fisherman his whole life.

Ken met his guiding star, Colleen, in Burns Lake in the fall of 1983. They quickly became friends and started a long distance relationship. Ken moved to Burns Lake to be closer to Colleen and they officially became a couple. They were married in the old courthouse in Prince Rupert on August 6, 1985. Ken wasted no time converting Colleen into the perfect partner for outdoor adventures, camping and fishing included; however, Colleen surprised Ken by being a natural.

Ken left footprints that tell an incredible story. From wandering the many nooks and crags of the Morice, Skeena, Dean, and many other rivers and lakes in BC, to traveling abroad with the love of his life to see the world, Ken enjoyed every minute of his adventures. He was the first to reflect on how satisfied he was with the life that he lived.

He is survived by his brother, Garry (Carole), and sister Karen (Gordon); his children, Duane (Kimberly), Carey (Brad), Greg, and Ryan (Caitlynn); his nephews Trevor, Michael, and Kyle; his niece Kaleigh; and five grandchildren Jake, Kaleb, Kaeden, Mya-Grace, and Ethan.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of nearly 40 years Colleen, his mother Irma, and his father Clayton.

No service will be held as per his request. Instead, his wish would be that you pour a glass of scotch, cut a piece of key lime pie, and remember the good times, the best memories, with a smile.

Don't worry or feel sad for me, I'm with

the love of my life, out fishing on the sea.
