LEILA (Lee) JEAN STEWART (Mooney)

Leila was born to Roy and Irene Mooney on February 2, 1931 in Galeta, Ontario. She moved to Burns Lake in 1987 and she opened as manager the Robinson Store which later became the Bargain Shop. She continued to manage the Bargain Shop until she retired in 1997 at which time she married Franklin (Frankie) Stewart.

They resided at Francois Lake, B.C. where they enjoyed the serene countryside and all the wildlife.

Leila enjoyed fishing, crafts and cooking. Leila was always smiling and made friends easily.

Leila was predeceased by her father, Roy Mooney on March 27, 1979 and her brother Floyd on March 19, 1995.

She is survived and will be sadly missed by her mother Irene Mooney, 97 years of age, Parksville, B.C.; her brother George (Elaine) Mooney, Parksville, B.C.; her sister Margaret (Boyd) Diamond, Calgary, AB; her sister Nelda Witt of Lilloett, B.C.; and her sister Linda (Bob) Preston of Winnipeg, Man.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Frankie and her children: Bryan (Donita) Hampson, Kirk Hampson, Sandra (Jim) Paul and Laurel (Clint) Dunn and her grandchildren: Derek, Justin, Jamie, Desirae, Leon and Drew.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated.

A memorial service will be held at:

St. Paul’s United Church

136 - 4th Avenue

Burns Lake, B.C.

September 17, 2005

2:00 p.m.

The service will be officiated by Rev. Jim Massey.
