Born in Invermere B.C., Brett moved to Burns Lake with his family in 1968 where he completed his education.
His life long interest in first aid led him to jobs in the logging, mining and exploration fields. The last three years were with an ambulance expediting company, which took Brett into the B.C. and Alberta oil patch.
Brett’s personal interests included his artwork, which he shared with family and friends, gardening and building rockeries. He also enjoyed fishing, water-skiing, reading and listening to music.
His parents, Barb and Al, his brother Chris, his grandmother Mollie Laird and his special friend Cinde Beamish will sadly miss Brett.
A memorial service was held in the Decker Lake Hall on September 6, 2003.
