Patricia Joanne DeChamplain (Fountain) passed away in the afternoon of November 12th, 2019 at the age of 68, as a result of a traffic accident in Edmonton.
Some may remember her as being Crowned "Burns Lake's Winter Carnival Queen" on her 18th birthday in 1969. Joanne worked as a lumber grader at Babine Forest Products for years then met and married Guy DeChamplain.
For over 15 years, Joanne and Guy took great pleasure fostering and pouring love into troubled children both younger and older. Some of the many foster kids she considered to be her family, especially Anthone (wife Jan) McGee and their daughter Brittany. After the DeChamplain family moved to Edmonton,
Joanne achieved her LPN Nursing certificate and continued her passion of caring for others. She was loved by many and was an integral and
loving support person for her family, friends and her step-mother, Mavis Viola Fountain (who currently resides in Lewis Estates, West Edmonton). Joanne's family and church were the world to her and she to them.
Joanne is predeceased by her birth mother Constance Villers Fountain (Marshall), her father William (Bill), Baunsgard Fountain and her sister Pamela Gay Jones (Fountain). Joanne's immediate family includes her Husband Guy De Champlain, daughter Jennifer (husband Victor) Juorio, grand daughter Isabella, her son David (wife Annie) Nicholson-Jones, grand daughter Beatrix, her daughter Tania (DeChamplain, Shaw) (husband Joel) Schiller, grandchildren Jayden and Rayanne, her brothers Michael William Fountain and David James (wife Brenda) Fountain.
The DeChamplain and Fountain families have and are growing exponentially through brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews etc. Joanne is truly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
