Born April 1950 in Salmon Arm BC, passed away August 13, 2020 in Burns Lake Hospital.
Pennie was the fourth child to Lucy and Cecil Banks. She and her family lived in Revelstoke BC until 1965 when BC hydro purchased their land in preparation for the building of Revelstoke Dam. They then relocated to Burns Lake and settled in the Palling area.
Pennie married Albert Patterson and together they had three children. After her first marriage ended, she met and married Ken Jones and with the blending of families became a mom to five children.
With Ken's support, Pennie followed her dreams of becoming an auctioneer and she and Ken ran "Pennie Jones Auction Services" for many years. Her diagnoses of Multiple Sclerosis in 1992 however forced her to retire her gavel. Pennie then became a marriage commissioner for a few years but as her MS continued to progress, she again was forced to retire.
Pennie is predeceased by her parents and her infant sister Leona. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Ken. Her sister Dorothy (Don) of Revelstoke BC, her brother Doug (Phyllis) of Tofino BC, five children Curtis, Dale (Cheryl), Clifford (Angela), Carren (Randy), and Brian (Joni), 10 grandchildren: Kyle (Courtney), Rylan, Lorne, Alan, Cole, Bailey(Braden), Brookii, Aden, Sophie, Aspen and two great grandchildren Kayden and Karsen.
Pennie's family would like to thank the staff of Northern Health for their help over the summer.
Donations to MS Society of Canada greatly appreciated.
