It is with the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of Reiner Helmut Stoecker on July 4, 2018. Reiner was the beloved son of Manfred and Ruth Stoecker, Husband to Katharina (Karin), Father to Sabrina and Scott, father in law to Michael and Alyshia & Opi (Grandpa) to Lili-Alaya, Sequoia, Luca & Rowan Mann.
Reiner was one of the hardest working people you'd meet. He worked tirelessly to get his family moved to Canada in 1991 from Germany. He loved fast cars and racing, the land and the great outdoors, adventuring, snowmobiling in the mountains, taking guests on tours while the guest ranch still operated, horseback riding (or racing ha), skiing, biking, kayaking & sometimes wind surfing. He also loved playing online racing on the PS4. He always kept things interesting and loved being spontaneous.
He reinvented himself a few times after moving here, having started out as a welder and qualified welding instructor/supervisor in Germany. He liked working on snowmobiles, learned to operate machinery and a Crane truck, started up a Septic business and worked on the Francois Lake ferry as an oiler.
There are volumes of good things to say & many stories to tell. If you met him you surely wouldn't forget your encounter, whether that experience was positive or negative. Reiner was the most ambitious man we knew, honest, loyal, dedicated and passionate. It is an understatement to say he was an incredible 'force' of a man. He had a huge welcoming heart to anyone he met, inviting them graciously into his home. Sometimes he was just too much for some, but his intentions were always good and he was always ready and willing to help anyone in need.
We will greatly miss him. He left a hole in our hearts we can only fill with gratitude and love for the time we had him in our lives and all the things we learned from him. We can only hope to meet again in the Great beyond. We love you.
