March 9, 1942 - May 2, 2019
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Richard Vessey who passed away peacefully on May 2, 2019 in Burns Lake.
Richard, also known to many as Dick, was born in Ottawa. After his father retired from the Royal Canadian Navy, the family settled in Victoria, BC.
Richard moved to Burns Lake in 1973 never regretting his decision to do so. He was employed by the Ministry of Highways and Lakes
District Maintenance, very devoted to his role with the Bridge Crew.
Richard had many passions including old cars, poker, Uncha lake fishing, woodworking, cement work and welding to name a few. He was a Kinsmen and K40 member for many years as well as a Wisemen's member in Victoria. His sense of humour was quite unique and we are left with many wonderful memories to share.
Richard is survived by his loving wife Cheryl, sister Mary, sons Bradley (Jean) and Dean, daughters Tracey (Rob) and Tara (Steve), many grandchildren and great-grandhildren, all of whom called him "Poppa Dick". Richard was predeceased by his parents, Wilfred John and Mary Georgina, and his brother Roger.
