It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Thomas Murray Cowan on January 2nd, 2010 at the age of 87 years.


Tom was born in Windsor, Ontario November 25th, 1922 to Hugh and Sarah Cowan.

He moved with his family to Francois Lake at the age of 8. At the age of 19 he joined the 2nd Lt. AA Regiment at Yorkton, Saskatchewan. He served overseas during WWII until September 1945.

He married Doreen Grainger in January 1946. They raised 6 daughters at Francois Lake and later Burns Lake. He was an electrician and later a school bus driver. In his retirement he pursued his passions of music, fishing and woodworking. He was predeceased by Doreen, his wife of 62 years, parents Hugh and Sarah and brothers, Stewart and Hugh.

He leaves to mourn, daughters Karen (Herman), Adrianne (Scotty), Alison, Sheelagh, Laurel (Wayne), Cami, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, his sister Margaret, brother Richmond (Jane), and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at the Legion Branch 50 on January 9th, 2010.
