Viola May passed away on August 25, 2006. She was predeceased by brothers William and Roy Irwin, daughter Sharon Jeffrey, and nephew Willy Siewert.
Born in Quesnel, BC, February 11, 1928, Viola lived in the Topley-Babine Lake area in the 1930’s and grew up at Dragon Lake near Quesnel. She worked for BC Tel in Quesnel and later in Vancouver where she met and married William Jeffrey. Viola raised three children while living in mining communities across Canada and in Tanzania. At Granisle Viola worked 24 years for Canada Post before retiring in 1997.
Viola will be deeply missed by many extended family members and friends for her kindness and love. Left to mourn are her husband of 52 years, William Jeffrey of Granisle, sons Neill of Coquitlam and Irwin of Terrace, sister Doris Siewert of Rocky Mountain House, AB, and grandsons Masaki, Matthew, and Colin.
The family thanks the nurses, doctors, and other workers at Lakes District Hospital for their care and kindness as they attended to Viola in her last days.
