Winnie passed away peacefully and graciously on July 4th, 2013 in Burns Lake after a short illness, her loving family at her side.
Winnie was born in Rapid City, Manitoba. In 1942 she married the love of her life and lifetime friend Leroy who predeceased her in 2009.
She was well known in the community for her exceptional knitting skill and puts lots of love into everything she made.
She loved to travel and made many trips to England, Europe, as well as Hawaii and Mexico. There was not a trip too long or too short for Winnie. They were all an adventure for her and she enjoyed them all, even the short local drives.
She also loved wildlife and was always on the lookout wherever she travelled. One of her great loves was the summer cabin at Babine Lake where she and Leroy spent time gardening, fishing and enjoying nature, especially the ducks and the loons.
Winnie will be loving remembered by her sons Geoffrey (Barbara), Murray (Geri) and daughter Judy (Chris) as well as her grandchildren Todd (Misti), Lori (Mark), Shaun, Heather, Mark, Ben (Tina) and great grandchildren Hailey, Brady, Paige and Erin.
