Do we want to see beetle killed trees?

In response to the article, 'Burns Lake Community forest fined for visual quality objectives infraction' published in the Lakes District News edition of Aug. 17, 2011.

The visual quality objectives code introduced in 2004, does not apply West of Moricetown or the Coquihalla Hwy. where clear cuts are visible and in some cases are right down to the highway.

Why in our area?

I think our law makers better give their heads a shake.

When you look across Decker Lake from Hwy. 16 you see the clear cuts are a beautiful green colour.

Do we want this?

Or do we want to see beetle killed dead trees, which will eventually fall down and create an ugly fire hazard?

It also restricts badly needed employment.

Or do we want to harvest the dead trees and replant the areas for our future forest.

I think our MLA, John Rustad better get up here and do something about this.
