Enbridge encourages public dialogue

Editor:

Re: “Enbridge ducks forums planned by UNBC”

Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipelines continues to be committed to public dialogue to help educate people about the project, listen to questions and discuss areas of concern.

Our commitment to dialogue was demonstrated a few weeks ago when we participated in an educational forum in Terrace that was attended by over 300 people. This session was followed by well-attended technical open houses in Kitimat, Burns Lake, Prince George and Houston. Over the last few years we have also held community open houses and participated in numerous speaking events such as chamber of commerce luncheons and presentations to town councils, as well as ongoing regional community advisory board meetings.

Continuing our commitment to public dialogue, Enbridge plans to collaborate with the Universarity of British Colimbia (UNBC) to hold public information sessions about the Northern Gateway Project. The initial dates proposed by UNBC did not allow key senior members of the Northern Gateway team to participate. We look forward to working with UNBC to participate in public information sessions around mutually agreeable dates.

We continue to always look for new opportunities to discuss Northern Gateway, particularly with residents along the proposed route. We are talking to mayors and councils in other key communities to identify where there is interest in holding educational forums.
