It is my understanding there is a contest out there to name our new recreation centre. Why? There is a reason it was called the Tom Forsyth Memorial Arena.
We would not have an arena if Mr. Forsyth had not spearheaded the project. It was built with many volunteers not government grants. What's next - rename McKenna Street, Carrol Street, Turner Drive etc.?
I believe the village council should reconsider their decision before making any changes.
