The Fraser Institute's report suggested that parents ask Decker Lake School and William Konkin Elementary School about their low ranking on the Foundational Skills Assessment (FSA).
While both these schools welcome questions, I suggest that a more productive question might be, “How you as a parent can support your child’s learning and therefore improve their FSA score.
These are some of the answers you will get: read to and with your child for 20 minutes every night, help them memorize their addition and multiplication facts and be interested and ask questions about what they are learning in science and social studies.
These few measures are guaranteed to significantly change their FSA scores, our school’s ranking and more importantly their lives.
