RE: UFO sighting in Smithers, Houston and the Burns Lake area

As part of a planned book on sightings of unidentified flying objects in Western Canada, I am currently seeking information on sightings in your area of the province.

To briefly describe the situation as I presently know it: as you are likely aware, there have been several quite remarkable examples of the phenomenon, including a July 29, 2002 sighting of a very bright moving light by several people in the Telkwa area; the October 22, 2002 sighting by two RCMP officers of a very large orange/gold glowing oval-shaped object sitting atop the Bell Copper Mine opposite Granisle; and an  August 3, 2008 close encounter event with a very colourful greyhound bus-sized craft by two men driving Highway 16 near Decker Lake at night.

I have recently been investigating the myriad sightings that took place in Granisle between the end of November, 2007 and May 2008. These events, in a few cases, featured huge well-lit craft and, in others, paranormal effects on the observers and their surroundings.

It seems likely there have been other sightings in your area and, if there have been, I would be pleased to receive notice of or comment regarding them. Those interested can write to me via email at rpdrown@hotmail.com or they can contact me at Archives New West, Box 360

720 6th St New Westminster, British Columbia V3L3.

Please be assured that I will respect all requests for privacy and will not mention any names without permission when the book is published.

Yours sincerely

Rod Drown, New Westminster
