Burns Lake Taxi came into Burns Lake as of the last week of December. The start up cost was very expensive, not to mention the insurance we are required to have and the harmonized sales tax is crazy in amounts for the drivers to pay out, however that's not so much of a concern right now, it's the six individuals that are transporting people around for a low minimum rate and it's really effecting the new taxi business.
I know that Burns Lake was adamant about having a legitimate service, so we applied ourselves and got all the necessary action needed to be taken and here we are just sitting on our butts, with no business at all.
If changes aren't made soon, Burns Lake Taxi will soon be closing its doors, which could be effective as soon as the end of January 2011.
If this should come about our apologies to the community is very heart felt.
Suggestions are more than welcome from the public. We need the community's support to continue this service.
