B.C. Cup Biathlon results

The Biathlon B.C. Cup was held over two days at the Omineca Ski Club in Burns Lake last weekend.

The Biathlon B.C. Cup was held over two days at the Omineca Ski Club in Burns Lake last weekend. This was the first time Omineca Ski Club has hosted a Biathlon B.C. Cup.

Eight clubs attended the competition from all over the province, including Burns Lake, Vancouver, Kelowna, Vernon, Quesnel, Prince George, Vanderhoof, and Smithers. There was 54 athletes competing in total.

The weather on Sunday was a chilly minus 20 degrees Celsius, just before the race, but the sun was shining and the blue sky was gorgeous.

Results for the midget category are; local Kyle Nealis first, local Cole Bender second. Juvenile category, local Ava Nealis third and senior girls category, local Emily Dickson fifth. Results for day two's sprint midget category, Kyle Nealis first, senior girls, Emily Dickson first. Dickson’s win qualified her for the Nationals, which will be held in Val Cartier, Quebec, March 2012.
