Five Burns Lake residents were part of a team that placed first in the B division of a baseball tournament held in Kamloops. The fifth annual 'October-fest dash for the cash,' held on Oct. 8-10, 2016, included 48 teams with four divisions - A, B, recreation and consolation. The five players from Burns Lake were Noal Miller, Peter Wiebe, Richard Whitehead, Jen McPhail and Michael Corby. Some of the other team players live in Kamloops, but are originally from Burns Lake - Keith Campbell, Melissa Campbell, Jordan Miller and Lianna Miller.
