Yes, the races are on. The eighth annual Cold Smoke Drag Races will be held on Feb. 11 and 12, 2012.
Pre-registration will be held on Feb. 10 at the Burns Lake and District Chamber of Commerce from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The races will start at 10 a.m. both days.
This year cash prizes have been included for second and third in the king class.
The other change that has been made is that the king class is now a double knockout race.
This will be great as we will get to see the big boys run more races.
For all the regular classes there will be an additional $50 for the first place winners.
There will also be a couple new classes this year.
Open Stock which is for the stock turbo and Yamaha chargers to show off their stuff and a Gentlemen’s Class for all those that would like to see what their everyday ride will do within 500 feet.
On the night of Feb. 11 the Burns Lake Curling Club will be putting on a dinner and dance and the Burns Lake Snowmobile Club will be having a silent auction.
All are welcome to come out and have some fun.
Tickets are available at Outdoor Adventures and at the lottery booth in the Lakeview Mall.
