Local teen Jasmine Tom takes a shot at the net during the Team B.C. player selection camp for the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships. Tom was recently selected to play in the 2012 Team B.C. female, for the second year running. Locals Brett Michell, Shelby Tom and Cassie Sam also attended the Team B.C. player selection camp held at the Shulus Community Arena in Merritt, but unfortunately missed out on being selected to the female or male teams. A total of 39 girls and 85 boys from across the province tried out for the teams. The national tournament will be held in Saskatoon from May 6-11, 2012.
