Although the forecast wasn't too favourable for this year's Ootsa Lake fishing derby, the weather was surprisingly pleasant during the weekend.

According to organizers, 224 people registered for the derby.

Elia Hetu caught the biggest fish at 10.89 pounds and took home the grand prize of $2000. Second place went to Daria Strimbold, who caught a 10.32 pounder and went home with $1000. Third place went for Matt Macleod, who caught a 9.81 pounder and took home a barbecue. Fourth place winners were Trent Hetu and Kenny Olson - (seen here his wife Lianne accepted his prize), who tied at 8.95 and took home $500.
