The Burns Lake Omineca Ski Club and Cross Country Canada hosted Racing Rocks 2013 on March 2, 2013.

Students from William Konkin, Grassy Plains, Decker Lake, and Francois Lake elementary schools participated in the multi-event day that tested speed and skill. Prizes were given for best costumes, fastest times, and best ski technique.

The informal environment kept the racing fun, while having many events kept all competitors interested and excited.

Ava Nealis skirts record pace in her sprint for the finish line. A young skier gets his hat blown off coming into a radar speed trap the Burns Lake RCMP had set up. The toughest skier of the day doesn’t quite stick her landing coming of a small roller in the terrain park. She was all smiles before the race was over.
