The Burns Lake women’s hockey team, the Vortex, hosted the first annual David McEntire Memorial Tournament last weekend at the Tom Forsyth Memorial Arena.
The tournament was held in memory of the late David McEntire who sadly passed away after a motor vehicle accident two years ago. Wife Cherie, who was also injured in the accident, retuned to the ice for the first time last weekend, to play in the tournament.
Over the weekend the Vortex played six games, winning three and coming second in the tournament.
