Dozens of Burns Lake residents met at the Francois Lake Community Hall last Sunday to run or walk 10 km for a great cause.
Burns Lake’s Terry Fox run raised almost $11,600 this year, including on-site donations, the silent auction and concession.
According to Carla Carlson, one of the organizers, that number will likely increase as donations keep coming in. Dozens of community members also contributed with items for the silent auction. “I’m humbled by the generosity of this community,” said Carlson.
All money will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation.
