Burns Lake’s annual 1000 yard shoot went off at the Tweedsmuir Rod and Gun Club last Saturday and Sunday.

It was the 39 year that the 1000 yard shoot has been held.

Rifle classes included, hunter rifles, sporting rifles, and a heavy barrel class, with each rifle class having certain restrictions. There was also an unlimited class with no restrictions on the rifles.

Lincoln Edwards won the men’s sporting rifle class, Keith Matson won the men’s heavy barrel class and the low aggregate, Bonnie Merlo won the lady’s sporting rifle class, Eric Lobban won the unlimited class and the high aggregate score, Henry Woelders won the hunting rifle class, Peter Sirfalk won the standing gong shot and Dallas Matson won the egg shot.

The big winner of the weekend was Cierra Verduzco who took home the lady’s heavy barrel class, the junior (13-18) class and both the junior high and low aggregate competitions.
