Last Saturday was the official grand opening of both the Pierce Hofer Memorial Wall Ride and the ‘Pigasus’ trail at the Kager Lake Recreation Site. The wall ride, which is essentially the semi-circular end of a velodrome track, has been pleasing local mountain bike aficionados for the past year. The total cost of the structure was approximately $100,000. The new Pigasus trail is 10-km long and runs from the top of Boer Mountain to the wall ride. About 30 people - including members of the Burns Lake Mountain Biking Association, donors and community members - gathered for the grand opening.
