Sept. 17 was a special day for Marion and Allen Blackwell has they celebrated their 64 wedding anniversary, what a milestone in their lives.

I feel I must keep up on my news and this week it will be a bit short I am afraid.

August 28 was a very special day in the Neave household with the holy union in marriage of Amy Watt and Edward Neave.

On Saturday evening last, John Keefe and I went across the lake to take in the open mike evening at the Grassy Plains Family Entertainment Centre.

It has been my pleasure to be a part of this area for 40 years now.

A young sailor had charge of the ship’s supply room, when one day the captain came and took two gallons of paint.

Here we go starting out another week and the weather is not too good. Saturday last we had a terrific wind and rain storm. As I look back I just don’t think we used to get these wind storms.

Let’s hope the nice warm weather stays with us. Lots of hay being cut and baled. It may have lost it’s food value a bit but it’s still hay.

What a pleasant surprise last week to have Denis and Rose Jaycox stop in for a very short visit. They were on their way to visit family at Takysie. They have moved to Cecil Lake now where they make their home.

The second annual Grassy Plains Bluegrass country jamboree is behind us but the memories of this wonderful weekend will remain with us for as long time.
